Sue Scott
July 10
Sue Scott is a retired public librarian who lives in Raleigh, North Carolina. She is a longtime member of the Jane Austen Society of North America (JASNA) and frequently presents programs on topics directly related to Austen's novels. She also conducts classes on Austen’s novels for North Carolina State’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI). Now that she has retired, Sue finds (much to her delight) that she has more time to drink tea, attend book clubs, watch movies, and, of course, talk about all things Jane Austen.
Sue will have musical accompaniment by Bruce Emery who has been a professional musician for more than 40 years. In addition, he has written and published more than 20 music instruction books.

Dawn Reno Langley in Benson
Sunday June 22, 2025
In her varied literary career, Ms. Langley has written both fiction and non-fiction, children’s books, novels, self-help manuals, and award-winning essays, short stories, and poems.
Join us on Sunday, June 22, 2025 (at Benson Little Theater Auditorium, 303 E. Church St., Benson, NC.) as Langley speaks about her writing and publishing adventures as well as social topics, issues, and loves that make her books so popular with readers and critics. She will discuss many of her works such as:
The Mourning Parade, Analyzing the Prescotst, and her newest novel, the first in a trilogy, The Mystic. This trilogy tells the story of a woman who navigates a complex web of secrets, racial tensions, and moral dilemmas, as she faces the truth about her husband’s accident.
We are honored to have this award-winning Fulbright Scholar visiting us from her home in Wilmington. She will have just returned from a book tour in New England before she visits us. I want her to be impressed by our literary endeavors.
An Afternoon with Dawn Reno Langley, Sunday, June 22, 2025 at 3:00 PM at BLT Theater, 303 E. Church St., Benson, NC
